(Anecdotal Lead) Sodexo and Adobe House offer workshare program beginning Fall 2016

Linley Dixon, head farmer at Adobe House Farms, has been trying for years to get Sodexo to partner with her CSA. Her hard work has finally paid off; Sodexo at Fort Lewis College is creating a workshare program for students and faculty beginning September 2016.

CSA and workshare

CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) is an opportunity for citizens to pay a certain amount per month or volunteer in exchange for produce. Adobe House's CSA is proud to partner with Sodexo at FLC to provide food on a sliding scale based on hours worked.

Produce offered

Adobe House Farms provides organic, seasonal produce for the Durango community.

During the summer months, the farm offers watermelon, canteloupe, and honeydew melon, along with pears, cherries, carrots, radishes, and more.

In the winter months, Adobe specializes in its nutrient-rich greens such as kale, lettuce, and chard, just to name a few.

Keeping it local

By partnering with Adobe House, Sodexo and Fort Lewis are committed to keeping money in Durango's economy. The partnership will financially benefit Fort Lewis College, Adobe House Farms, and the Durango community.

By utilizing the workshare oppurtunity, FLC students and faculty have access to healthy organic produce at the price that works for them.

Adobe House Farms will vamp their production rates with the help of the FLC volunteers, and the financial backing of Sodexo.
